SEAYOPD
We are the Seattle-area Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (SEAYOPD) activity group.
Our events happen in various locations and our members are all over the Seattle metro area. Most in our circle are under 60, still working and looking for an alternative to traditional support groups. Membership is open to any one in the Parkinson’s community, PWPs, care partners, friends and family.
Since forming we’ve hiked, kayaked, played in the snow and lifted each other up. We’ve done several incredible private tours, organized by members, and had many great conversations over great meals.
Every few weeks we gather for fun and friendship among people who understand what it’s like to live with YOPD. Group members suggest, choose and help plan our activities. We have several smaller groups that focus on helping others with some of the unique situations within our community.

Our events are held outside, with occasional indoor activities. Event attendees are expected to respect the wellbeing of our members and be vaccinated for Covid-19 or wear a mask at all times while at an event. There are masks & sanitizer on hand at all events, if needed.
We are a participate-at-your-own-risk, activity-based group. We do our best to give you all the logistical information on each event. It is up to you to decide if you have the physical abilities to safely attend an event. You take full responsibility if you choose to attend an event. We care for your well-being and will support your participation. We are not medical professionals. If you are at an event and find it exceeds your abilities or if you just need a rest period, SPEAK UP. Your safety is a priority.
