05.14 NW Timber Trail
After 5 years of events the PNW rain finally caught us. It never even slowed us down either. The 10 attendees were prepared. We had 2 newcomers and spouses welcomed by the familiar faces of our event veterans. The drenching we had while gathering in the lot soon faded away as we entered the old growth moss covered canopy of Tiger Mountain State Forest forested. Along our 4.4-mile round trip hike we were amazed at all the shades of green, dodged a few mudpuddles, saw springtime favorites like Trillium and Bleeding Hearts, and recharged our souls with the forest pheromones. We came out of the trailhead as the sunbreaks began. As usual we lingered talking not wanting the time with our PD family to end.
